Hans Steven Beyer-Sebio - The Chosen One

Not just any child could walk this uphill road.
Hans walked it everyday, carrying a load.

Hans showed us heights of courage that we may never reach. Hans showed us what it is to fight; A fight we cannot teach.

Papa & Mama stood beside him knowing there is no guarantee, except for one we started with, to love him endlessly.

Hans is the special chosen one, God knew it from the start. God picked Hans by the measure of his heart.

The one that measured the biggest would someday face a test. What was the challenge? ...To understand that God loves him more, not less.

God used Hans to move our hearts closer to HIS own. Teaching all of us to trust HIS plan and fear not the unknown.

Showing us how to care unselfishly. And bringing wonderful people into our lives. Now, God is tapping Hans' shoulder, both looking down on us, smiling proudly at the wonderful job Hans has done...

WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH HANS, YOU WILL FOREVER BE IN OUR HEARTS...

I cried and started to ask God why? - Gloria Batalao

When Maggie called me this morning 4:56 AM, California time, I thought she is calling me to tell me when they are coming to California to stay with us. Maggie emailed me last week asking if they could stay with us for a little while awaiting for Hans' full recovery. Hans was getting better everyday as we read from Maggie's latest update. Steve and Maggie both have decided not to bring Hans back to Baguio, but to stay here in the US while recovering instead. I was about to get their room ready then I received this call. The very first words that came out of my mouth was, "but Hans was getting better everyday and feeling better everyday?" I cried and prayed - God, why? Hans was getting better? you gave us hope? and then I remember...God knows best! He knows what is best for Hans and for his families. Knowing that God knows best is comforting enough and gave me peace within my heart.
